Centrelink August 2025 Pension Dates Revealed: $250 Bonus Coming

Centrelink has just put out the payment calendar for the Age Pension in August 2025, giving a welcome look-ahead for the millions of pensioners who count on this money. With prices going up everywhere, knowing the exact dates for deposits is a big help for anyone trying to manage a tight budget.

Centrelink August 2025 Pension

Regular Pension Payments for August 2025

Age Pensioners will stick to Centrelink’s usual fortnightly schedule. Bank deposits will happen on these two Thursdays:

  • Thursday, August 7, 2025
  • Thursday, August 21, 2025

The amounts will be the same as the rates set back in March 2025. That means a single pensioner will get $1,149.00 each fortnight, which adds up to about $29,874 for the year. Couples will see a combined $1,732.20 each fortnight, or about $45,037 a year.

Extra One-Off $250 Payment in Mid-August

On top of the regular deposits, a one-time $250 payment will start going out on August 12, 2025. This one-off bonus is meant to help pensioners cope with ongoing inflation and the extra heating bills that winter brings. Centrelink will handle the payments automatically.

The payment schedule for the upcoming special supplement is:

Payment Start Date: August 12, 2025

Final Payment Completion Date: August 16, 2025

This extra payment will go straight into the account of anyone who currently receives the Age Pension, Disability Support Pension, Carer Payment, a Veteran Affairs pension, or the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card as of July 31, 2025. There’s no need to fill out any extra forms.

Weekly Payment Options Available

Even though most pensioners get their payments every two weeks, Centrelink wants everyone to know there’s a weekly option for people who:

  • Are homeless or worry that they might soon be
  • Find it hard to manage money over a two-week gap

If you think weekly payments might help, reach out to Centrelink to go through your situation.

Planning Ahead: September Rate Review

Looking ahead to September, pensioners should be aware that the Australian Bureau of Statistics will check pension rates. Any updates, based on the Consumer Price Index, wage growth, and living costs, will start on September 20, 2025.

Knowing these dates makes it a little easier to budget and to plan for everyday expenses when prices keep going up.
